Habanero lemonade

A spicy drink for a hot summer day!

  • 3 liters of water

  • Juice from 10 lemons

  • 2-3 yellow habanero peppers, remove seeds and cut into slices

  • 3-4 tablespoons of sugar

  • For serving: Ice, sliced lemon and washed mint leaves


  • Pour 2 cups of water (out of the 3 liters) into a pot, add the sugar and bring to a boil.

  • Add the habanero peppers slices and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes.

  • Remove the pot from the stove.

  • Remove the habanero slices from the water.

  • Transfer the spicy sugar water to a large jug, add the remaining water, the lemon juice and stir well.

  • Refrigerate for at least an hour.

  • Serve in tall glasses, with ice, a slice of lemon and mint leaves.

  • We recommend removing the habanero slices from the lemonade.
